We’re excited to announce a major firmware update for Rapsodo Pro 2.0 Pitching: The 50 Series firmware.
This release represents a fresh start for pitch tracking. The 50 Series firmware was written entirely from the ground up, with no ties to previous versions. This new firmware includes several improvements to how we capture and process data.
What’s Improved
The 50 Series firmware introduces several meaningful upgrades to pitch tracking:
Optimized photo taking
We now are able to capture more images of the seams throughout ball flight, allowing for more accurate recreation of trajectory and break values.
Advanced ball finding
A new approach to how our devices find the ball in the environment allows for clearer images, and more of them.
Global optimization across sensors
The radar and optical components in the devices now work more closely together resulting in much more accurate data.
What to expect
In most cases, users will see lower break values across the board, for most pitch types. This data will likely not look like old Rapsodo data, however, the 50 Series Firmware will deliver much more accurate data, backed by tireless testing.

How to Take Advantage
If you’re a current PRO 2.0 customer, simply open the Baseball app and follow instructions for updating to the latest firmware. You must be on app version 1.10 or newer to trigger the firmware update.
